# About the Topic-based discussions category

This is the Topic-Based Scientific Discussions category. It is the central hub for in-depth discussions on a wide range of scientific topics.

To keep discussions organized and easy to follow, we have divided this category into several subcategories, each focused on a specific field of science.

🔍 **How to Browse Subdirectories**  
To access the subcategories:

1. **From the WISE Forum Homepage** : Select the desired subcategory directly from the homepage.
2. **From the Topic-Based Discussions Category Page** : Use the “subcategories” drop-down menu at the top of the page to choose the subcategory you want to explore.

✍ **How to Open a Topic and Assign a Subcategory**  
When starting a new topic:

1. Click on the “New Topic” button.
2. Assign a Tag: Make sure to select the appropriate subcategory tag for your topic. This ensures your topic is placed in the correct subdirectory, increasing its visibility and attracting more attention.
